Highrock Prison Project

God cares about bringing justice for victims of crime, and God extends grace to offenders, desiring the kind of justice that restores. In Matthew 25, Jesus says, "I was in prison and you came to me," exhorting his followers to serve the prisoner just as we are called to serve the hungry and the poor. And in Isaiah 1, God calls us to “learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression.”

The Highrock Prison Project seeks concrete ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in our local area whose lives are affected by incarceration. We learn about the complexities of the criminal justice system. We partner with Partakers (partakers.org) as mentors in the College Behind Bars and Partakers Empowerment Program. And ultimately, we hope to advocate for restorative justice that advances proportional punishment, constructive prison culture, and second chances.

Partnership with Partakers

Partakers mentors support Massachusetts prison education by building trusting personal relationships with incarcerated women and men as they pursue higher education or return to our community. The College Behind Bars program provides incarcerated people with skills critical to completing a college degree, and the Partakers Empowerment Program reduces barriers for formerly incarcerated people looking for housing, or work.
