Brookline, Mass., March 1 - Highrock Brookline announced today that Kat Hampson will become its new Lead Pastor following a vote at a members’ meeting on February 28, 2021.
Youth Group is for students in Grades 6 through 12.
Our goal is to create environments that encourage students to grow in their faith in Christ, connect with others, make wise decisions that positively influence their relationships, and experience personal growth through serving.
During the school year, our junior high students from grades 6-8 meet up together on most Friday evenings from 6pm to 8pm and our senior high students from grades 9-12 meet up together on most Sunday evenings from 5pm to 7pm. Both gatherings are typically at our Church Ministry Center (257 Great Rd., Acton) unless otherwise noted. A usual evening may include games, snacks, and time growing in our faith together through worship, Bible study, and teaching.
We also have special events about once a month. During the school year, we typically have a winter retreat, snow tubing, laser tag, and local service projects. During the summer, we have service projects, pool parties, and more. Occasionally, we gather with students from other Highrock or Covenant churches for some of these special events.
In addition to these opportunities, many of our teens serve during Sunday worship in various areas of the church like our children’s, worship, welcoming, and hospitality ministries.
Our regional Covenant Camp is Pilgrim Pines in Swanzey, NH. The Pines runs a youth camp called Camp Squanto where many of our junior and senior high students attend a week of summer camp. Camp Squanto invites campers to experience the love of Christ outside of four walls in a unique, transforming environment. Highrock can often provide scholarships to students who otherwise would not be able to attend camp. To learn more about Squanto, go to pilgrimpines.org or contact one of the church pastors.
