Brookline, Mass., March 1 - Highrock Brookline announced today that Kat Hampson will become its new Lead Pastor following a vote at a members’ meeting on February 28, 2021.
So many men invest all their time and energy into work and family, leaving no time and space for friendships or to hear from God. The vision for our Men's Community is to create spaces where men can experience genuine friendship through which they can be spiritually encouraged, renewed, and challenged to love God in the tasks before them.
The Men's Community gathers for men's nights throughout the year, generates discipleship groups, hosts occasional Bible studies, and also has some opportunities for retreats.
About every other month, all the men of the church are invited to a men's night at True West restaurant and brewery for an evening of connecting and real conversation. Stay tuned to MyRock for upcoming opportunities.
Cornerstone Groups are a high standard, high commitment, 9 month long discipleship training for men on all things that matter in life: walking with God, marriage, parenting, money, sex, living with purpose, making your life count, etc. designed for small groups of 4 to 6 men. If you're interested, contact the Men's Community leaders. New groups launch about every 9 months.
Pastor Will hosts seasonal in-depth Bible studies. In past years, these have includes studies of the story of David, the Book of Job, and the Gospel of Mark. During Winter 2021 while Will is on Sabbatical, the group will be doing a study of 1 Peter, and will be hosted by Joel VanDixhorn and John Richards. Contact Joel to get involved (email@example.com).
During our seasonal small groups, there is often a small group exclusively for men. Visit our Small Groups page to learn more about this way to connect.
The "Restored and Free" ministry (formerly called "For Men Only") consists of groups of men who are working together to recover from sexual and relational brokenness. Problems of sexual integrity are symptoms of an underlying problem: a disordered pattern of intimacy with God and others. Restored & Free groups are designed to be experiences of real, grace-filled relationships, equipping men to restore health to their relationships with God and the significant people in their lives. A Restored & Free group regularly meets at Highrock Acton. There are also groups connected to our sister church in Arlington. For January through March 2021, the Acton group will be reading Surfing for God and discussing these study questions. If you'd like to find out more about joining a group, email the group leaders at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is an opportunity for dads, uncles, grandfathers, or guardians to get an exclusive weekend with just one child so they can have a special one-on-one experience. This happens every year in Late August at Camp Squanto in Swanzey, NH.
Most years in the Spring, we host an All-Highrock Men's Retreat at Pilgrim Pines in Swanzey, NH. Men from across the Highrock Network will gather together for a weekend away to enjoy the beauty of creation, community, fun, food, worship, learning, and more. Join the Men's Community group on MyRock for details.
